Lifting Engineer
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 4–6 years of relevant experience in lifting engineering, lifting operations, rigging, or a related industrial field.
- Must have experience working in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Fertilizer Plants, Refineries, Chemical Plants, or similar industrial facilities.
- Must have strong knowledge of lifting plans, rigging operations, crane operations, lifting equipment, and load-handling procedures.
- Must be capable of performing or coordinating routine maintenance and repair work related to lifting equipment and associated systems.
- Must understand lifting equipment capacities, load calculations, rigging configurations, and safe lifting practices.
- Knowledge of applicable lifting standards, safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and risk assessment procedures is highly advantageous.
- Must have strong planning, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be capable of working effectively in demanding industrial and project environments.
- Must be safety-conscious and committed to maintaining high standards of lifting and workplace safety.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise lifting and rigging operations in accordance with approved procedures and project requirements.
- Prepare and review lifting plans, lifting studies, method statements, and risk assessments for complex lifting activities.
- Determine appropriate lifting equipment, cranes, rigging accessories, lifting capacities, and configurations for specific operations.
- Inspect and verify the condition and suitability of cranes, lifting equipment, rigging gear, slings, shackles, spreader beams, and other lifting accessories.
- Ensure lifting operations comply with approved lifting plans, technical specifications, and applicable health and safety standards.
- Coordinate with crane operators, riggers, supervisors, engineers, maintenance personnel, and other project teams.
- Monitor lifting activities and ensure safe positioning, movement, and placement of heavy equipment and materials.
- Identify potential lifting hazards and implement appropriate control measures before and during lifting operations.
- Assist with routine maintenance and repair work related to lifting equipment and associated systems when required.
- Investigate lifting equipment problems and coordinate corrective actions to maintain safe and reliable operations.
- Maintain proper inspection records, lifting documentation, equipment certifications, and maintenance reports.
- Ensure lifting activities are conducted safely and efficiently while minimizing risks to personnel, equipment, and facilities.
