Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of working experience is required.
- At least 3 years of overseas working experience in plant construction is required, particularly in oil and gas, refinery, or petrochemical projects.
- Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
- Candidates must possess a valid NC II (NC2) certification.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Proven experience operating lathe machines and performing precision turning and machining work.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, measurements, and machining instructions.
- Good knowledge of machining tools, cutting procedures, machine setup, and dimensional inspection.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a multicultural project team in a plant construction environment.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, safety awareness, and quality consciousness.
- Applicants should be physically capable of performing machining and workshop duties in a demanding industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate conventional or related lathe machines to perform turning and machining operations on metal components.
- Set up and secure workpieces, cutting tools, and machine fixtures according to job requirements.
- Perform turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, grooving, and other machining operations as required.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, dimensions, machining specifications, and work instructions.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining methods for different materials and components.
- Measure machined components using appropriate precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Inspect finished components for proper dimensions, surface finish, alignment, and conformity with specifications.
- Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain accuracy and product quality.
- Identify machining defects, tool wear, dimensional deviations, and other production issues and take appropriate corrective action.
- Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, inspection, and basic maintenance of lathe machines and related equipment.
- Replace worn cutting tools and other machine components as necessary within the scope of assigned duties.
- Maintain proper housekeeping around the machining area and ensure tools and materials are safely stored.
- Follow plant construction procedures, project specifications, quality requirements, and approved work instructions.
- Comply strictly with occupational health and safety requirements, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Observe safe working practices when handling heavy metal components, cutting tools, lubricants, and machining equipment.
- Coordinate with supervisors, machinists, welders, fitters, and other trades to complete assigned work efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of completed machining work, measurements, machine conditions, and maintenance activities when required.
- Report machine malfunctions, unsafe conditions, material defects, and production concerns to the supervisor.
- Support machining and fabrication requirements for oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, and other plant construction projects.
- Perform other related lathe machining and mechanical workshop duties assigned by the supervisor.
