The Beach, Vanuatu is seeking an experienced IT Technician to provide technical support and maintain reliable IT systems and connectivity within the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting networks, Wi-Fi, internet connections, computers, printers, mobile devices, and other technology equipment. Experience in a hotel or resort environment is preferred, with strong troubleshooting, security, and end-user support skills.
IT TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- Must have 3–5 years of experience as an IT Technician.
- Experience in a hotel or resort environment is preferred.
- Proven experience troubleshooting LANs, Wi-Fi access points, network switches, and remote internet links.
- Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing workstations, laptops, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
- Strong ability to diagnose and resolve end-user technical issues in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of basic network troubleshooting, connectivity, and IT infrastructure.
- Experience with system security monitoring, data backups, software updates, and antivirus patches.
- Ability to identify and resolve hardware and software problems.
- Good understanding of computer systems, peripherals, operating systems, and common business applications.
- Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on IT equipment and systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer-service skills when assisting end users.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with other departments and service providers.
- Organized, reliable, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple technical support requests.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment and respond to urgent IT issues when required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day IT technical support to employees and authorized users.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, connectivity, and user-related technical issues promptly.
- Troubleshoot Local Area Networks (LANs), Wi-Fi access points, network switches, and remote internet links.
- Monitor network connectivity and investigate interruptions, slow connections, and other network performance issues.
- Install, configure, maintain, and repair workstations, laptops, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
- Set up computers, user accounts, peripherals, and other IT equipment for new and existing users.
- Install and configure operating systems, software applications, drivers, and necessary updates.
- Provide technical assistance to users and explain solutions in a clear and professional manner.
- Respond to IT support requests and prioritize issues based on urgency and operational impact.
- Perform routine system checks to identify potential hardware, software, or network problems.
- Monitor system security and help protect IT systems against unauthorized access, malware, and other security threats.
- Perform routine data backups and verify that backup processes are completed properly.
- Apply necessary software updates, security patches, and antivirus updates to supported devices and systems.
- Maintain antivirus and endpoint security protection on computers and other applicable devices.
- Assist with network equipment configuration and basic troubleshooting of routers, switches, access points, and related devices.
- Maintain accurate records of IT equipment, installations, repairs, maintenance, and technical support activities.
- Monitor the condition and availability of computers, printers, network equipment, and other technology assets.
- Assist with the maintenance and organization of IT equipment, cables, peripherals, and technical work areas.
- Coordinate with internet service providers, equipment vendors, software providers, and external IT support when required.
- Escalate complex technical issues that require specialized support or additional resources.
- Ensure IT systems and equipment are maintained in accordance with company procedures and security requirements.
- Support the reliable operation of technology systems in daily hotel/resort or business activities.
- Perform other IT support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical duties as assigned.
