General Machinery Pte Ltd (GM Motors) is seeking experienced Hydraulic Technicians to join its team in Fiji. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic systems and components used in heavy vehicles and industrial equipment while ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Hydraulic Technician
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as a Hydraulic Technician is required.
- Must have good English communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, automotive repair, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and related electrical systems.
- Experience in hydraulic troubleshooting, component repair, and spare parts identification is an advantage.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs on hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, motors, and hydraulic controls.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspections on hydraulic equipment to ensure optimum performance.
- Install, test, and commission hydraulic components and systems.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and related electrical system issues using appropriate diagnostic tools.
- Replace defective hydraulic parts and perform system testing after repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and spare parts documentation.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools, testing equipment, and hydraulic servicing equipment.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and manufacturer specifications at all times.
- Collaborate with workshop supervisors and team members to complete maintenance and repair work efficiently.
