General Machinery Pte Ltd (GM Motors) is seeking experienced Hybrid Technicians to join its team in Fiji. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hybrid vehicles, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of both conventional automotive systems and hybrid electrical components.

Hybrid Technician

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as a Hybrid Technician is required.
• Must have good English communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair, diagnostics, hybrid vehicle systems, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance.
• Experience with automotive electronics, high-voltage systems, hydraulics, and spare parts management is an advantage.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain hybrid vehicles, including gasoline engines, electric motors, and hybrid drive systems.
• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot high-voltage battery systems, charging systems, inverters, converters, and electronic control units.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Use computerized diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.
• Repair or replace defective hybrid system components, wiring, sensors, and electrical assemblies.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical service manuals.
• Ensure safe handling of high-voltage systems by following established safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and spare parts.
• Collaborate with workshop supervisors and team members to complete repairs efficiently and minimize vehicle downtime.
