HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Others or similar fields.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- At least 5 years of related experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or in a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, mechanical systems, and basic electrical systems.
- Proven experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment.
- Experience with one or more of the following is an advantage:
- Excavators
- Bulldozers/Dozers
- Backhoes
- Forklifts
- Cranes
- Dump Trucks/Heavy Trucks
- Generators
- Other construction or heavy machinery
- Ability to read and understand equipment/service manuals.
- Willingness and ability to work in a construction and heavy-equipment environment.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and preventive maintenance skills.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy equipment, construction machinery, and related mechanical systems.
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and ready for operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose equipment faults using appropriate testing equipment, tools, and service manuals.
- Perform repairs and replacement of defective or worn components.
- Conduct equipment testing after repairs to verify proper operation and performance.
- Read and follow equipment operating manuals, service manuals, technical specifications, and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, parts replaced, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Assist in maintaining the company’s equipment fleet and ensure machinery is available and operational when required.
- Perform other mechanical maintenance duties as assigned.
