Turbo Staff Limited is seeking qualified and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics to support civil construction and mining operations in New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, servicing, and repairing heavy earthmoving and diesel-powered equipment while ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Civil Construction and Mining)

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant overseas work experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
• Proven track record of overseas employment with supporting documents
• Very good verbal and written English communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong knowledge and experience in heavy machinery used in civil construction and mining operations.
• Ability to diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
• Safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on heavy construction and mining equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults and carry out breakdown repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain and repair heavy earthmoving machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, dump trucks, and other diesel-powered equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and ensure machinery remains in safe operating condition.
• Identify mechanical issues and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
• Complete maintenance records, service reports, and required documentation accurately.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and industry standards.
• Work effectively with supervisors, operators, and site teams to ensure equipment reliability.
• Read and understand technical manuals, equipment specifications, and repair instructions.
