Jarir Bookstore is seeking qualified and experienced General Maintenance Workers for an overseas work opportunity in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, inspections, and upkeep of facilities, equipment, and store premises to ensure a safe, clean, and properly functioning environment.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

Qualifications:

• Diploma in any related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in general maintenance, building maintenance, facility maintenance, retail maintenance, or a similar field is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on facilities, fixtures, and equipment.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and workplace safety practices.
• Ability to safely use common hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Good problem-solving and practical technical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond to maintenance requests efficiently.
• Driver’s License is preferred but not required.
• Physically fit and capable of performing general maintenance duties.
• Willing to follow company policies, safety procedures, and supervisor instructions

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine general maintenance and repair work in stores, offices, facilities, and assigned areas.
• Inspect facilities, fixtures, equipment, and building systems to identify maintenance requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance to help keep facilities and equipment in safe and proper working condition.
• Carry out minor repairs involving doors, locks, shelves, furniture, fixtures, walls, ceilings, and other facility components.
• Perform basic electrical maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, switches, fixtures, and other components within the permitted scope of work.
• Perform basic plumbing maintenance, including repairing minor leaks and replacing simple plumbing fixtures and components.
• Assist with basic carpentry, painting, patching, and other building maintenance activities.
• Inspect and maintain store fixtures, display equipment, and other facility installations.
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facility-related problems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment or facility breakdowns.
• Coordinate with supervisors and specialized contractors when repairs require additional technical expertise.
• Assist in the installation, adjustment, relocation, and maintenance of store equipment and fixtures.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance materials in good working condition.
• Monitor maintenance supplies and report shortages or replacement requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance work, inspections, repairs, and service requests.
• Conduct regular checks to identify potential safety hazards, equipment defects, or facility problems.
• Ensure assigned maintenance activities comply with company procedures and workplace safety requirements.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing maintenance work.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping in maintenance work areas.
• Dispose of repair and maintenance waste properly and keep work areas safe and organized.
• Support store operations by responding to urgent maintenance requirements when necessary.
• Report major defects, safety hazards, equipment failures, and repair requirements to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform other general maintenance and facility-related duties assigned by management.
