Modern Advanced Construction (MAC) is seeking a qualified and experienced Fire Alarm Technician to install, program, test, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm systems in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will work with fire alarm control panels, detectors, manual call points, sounders, and related devices while ensuring proper system operation and reliable integration with other building safety and control systems.
FIRE ALARM TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- Male, 24–40 years old.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
- Experience installing and connecting fire alarm control panels, detectors, manual call points, sounders, and related devices.
- Knowledge of fire alarm control panel programming and configuration.
- Experience in testing and commissioning fire alarm systems.
- Able to troubleshoot electrical and communication faults.
- Knowledge of interfacing fire alarm systems with HVAC, elevators, fire pumps, and fire suppression systems.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, fire alarm layouts, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Good knowledge of fire alarm system components, wiring, testing procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to system reliability and safety.
- Ability to work effectively in construction, commercial, industrial, and project-site environments.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically capable of performing installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
Responsibilities:
- Install and connect fire alarm control panels, detectors, manual call points, sounders, and other fire alarm devices.
- Perform installation of fire alarm wiring, cables, conduits, termination points, and related components.
- Read and interpret fire alarm system drawings, wiring diagrams, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Install smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, sounders, strobes, modules, interfaces, and other fire alarm devices.
- Connect field devices to fire alarm control panels according to approved system designs and wiring requirements.
- Program and configure fire alarm control panels according to system specifications and project requirements.
- Configure zones, addresses, input/output modules, alarm devices, monitoring functions, and other applicable system parameters.
- Conduct continuity checks and verify correct wiring and device connections.
- Test individual fire alarm devices and complete systems to ensure proper operation.
- Perform testing and commissioning of fire alarm systems before handover.
- Conduct alarm, fault, supervisory, notification, and system communication tests.
- Troubleshoot electrical, wiring, device, control panel, and communication faults.
- Identify defective detectors, modules, sounders, cables, connections, and other system components and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Diagnose false alarms, communication failures, open circuits, short circuits, ground faults, and other system abnormalities.
- Interface fire alarm systems with HVAC systems, elevators, fire pumps, and fire suppression systems.
- Test cause-and-effect functions and verify proper activation of connected building systems during fire alarm conditions.
- Coordinate with electrical, HVAC, elevator, fire fighting, and other technical teams during system integration and commissioning.
- Perform preventive maintenance and periodic inspection of fire alarm equipment and devices.
- Maintain accurate records of testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure fire alarm installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, safety requirements, and applicable standards.
- Use appropriate testing instruments, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Report system defects, technical issues, material requirements, and commissioning concerns to supervisors or engineers.
- Perform other fire alarm installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting duties assigned by management.
