Vision Motors is seeking a highly skilled Elevator and Escalator Electrician to join its technical team in the Fiji Islands. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, programming, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of elevator and escalator electrical systems. The role requires strong expertise in three-phase electrical systems, inverter drive programming, and fault diagnosis to ensure the safe and reliable operation of vertical transportation equipment.
Elevator and Escalator Electrician
Qualifications:
- Male applicants only.
- Age: 25 to 45 years old.
- Proven experience in the electrical installation, programming, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of elevators and escalators.
- Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
- Experience in 3-phase electrical wiring and installation.
- Experience in VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) and VVVF (Variable Voltage Variable Frequency) inverter drive programming.
- Strong knowledge of elevator and escalator electrical components for accurate fault diagnosis and repair.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of elevator and escalator systems.
- A valid 4-wheel driver’s license is a strong advantage.
- Registered Master Electrician (RME) certification is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of solar power generation systems is a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Install, wire, program, commission, and test elevators and escalators in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repair of elevator and escalator electrical systems.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults involving control panels, motors, sensors, safety devices, and other system components.
- Install and maintain 3-phase electrical wiring and power distribution systems for elevators and escalators.
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and Variable Voltage Variable Frequency (VVVF) drive systems.
- Conduct functional testing and commissioning to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and installation drawings.
- Coordinate with mechanical technicians during installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and inspection documentation.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, workplace safety regulations, and company quality standards.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and service calls to minimize equipment downtime.
- Perform other related duties assigned by management.
