ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

  • Male applicants only, as specified by the employer.
  • Candidates must possess a Technical Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Installation, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in:
    • Substation electrical work
    • Industrial electrical installation
    • Electrical maintenance
    • Electrical systems installation
  • Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical installation and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of electrical tools and testing equipment.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in industrial and substation environments.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Able to follow technical instructions and workplace safety procedures.
  • Reliable, hardworking, responsible, and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work in substations and industrial facilities.
  • Install electrical cables, conduits, wiring systems, switches, control panels, and related electrical components.
  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of substation electrical equipment.
  • Inspect electrical systems and components to identify faults, damage, or potential safety hazards.
  • Perform electrical testing and basic troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Use electrical testing instruments and hand tools safely and correctly.
  • Check electrical connections, cables, terminals, and components for proper installation and condition.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Identify electrical faults and assist in determining appropriate corrective actions.
  • Repair or replace damaged electrical components when authorized.
  • Ensure electrical installations meet required technical and safety standards.
  • Follow lockout/tagout and other applicable electrical safety procedures.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing electrical work.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, technicians, and other workers during installation and maintenance activities.
  • Complete work assignments according to project schedules and instructions.
  • Report equipment defects, electrical hazards, and maintenance issues to supervisors.
  • Follow company policies, site safety regulations, and electrical work procedures.
  • Perform other electrical installation and maintenance duties as assigned.
