Electrical Engineer
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
- Professional Engineering Registration is preferred.
- Electrical Design Certification is an advantage.
- Project Management training is desirable.
- HSEQ or Integrated Management System (IMS) training is desirable.
- Experience in modular construction, precast concrete manufacturing, industrial facilities, or commercial building projects.
- Strong experience with electrical power distribution systems.
- Proven experience in testing and commissioning electrical installations.
- Experience managing electrical contractors and subcontractors.
- Experience working within ISO-certified organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Electrical Design and Engineering
Prepare, review, and approve electrical designs, technical drawings, and engineering documentation. - Ensure electrical systems comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Review electrical load calculations and power distribution requirements.
- Coordinate electrical designs with structural, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing disciplines.
- Provide technical solutions to engineering and construction challenges.
- Modular Building and Factory Electrical Systems
- Oversee electrical installations for modular housing units throughout the manufacturing process.
- Ensure compliance with approved electrical layouts and installation specifications.
- Verify installation quality and support successful commissioning and project handover.
- Provide technical support for factory electrical infrastructure and production equipment.
- Assist with maintenance, troubleshooting, power supply reliability, and energy management initiatives.
- Coordinate electrical upgrades and system improvements.
- Testing and Commissioning
- Develop electrical testing and commissioning procedures.
- Supervise testing of electrical installations, equipment, and power distribution systems.
- Review commissioning reports and test results.
- Ensure identified defects are rectified before operational approval.
- Approve electrical systems for project handover and operational use.
- Quality, Safety, and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Participate in quality inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor workmanship standards and maintain electrical records and certifications.
- Ensure all electrical activities comply with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) requirements.
- Conduct electrical risk assessments and hazard identification activities.
- Promote safe isolation, lockout/tagout procedures, and compliance with electrical safety regulations.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action programs.
- Project Coordination and Documentation
- Coordinate electrical activities with project schedules and construction teams.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Support procurement activities for electrical materials and equipment.
- Prepare technical reports, engineering recommendations, and performance documentation.
- Maintain accurate design records, as-built drawings, and project handover documentation.
- Monitor electrical performance indicators and ensure timely reporting.
