Job Talent is offering an overseas employment opportunity for an experienced Design & Technical Sales Engineer in Belgium, specialising in industrial machinery manufacturing. The ideal candidate will combine engineering design expertise, project leadership, and client-facing technical sales skills. The successful applicant will translate customer requirements into practical engineering solutions, lead design teams, and coordinate with production teams to ensure machinery and prototype projects are technically feasible, cost-effective, and successfully fabricated.

DESIGN & TECHNICAL SALES ENGINEER (Industrial Machinery Manufacturing)

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience leading large-scale machinery manufacturing, machine-building, or prototype fabrication projects from inception to completion.
  • Established experience in industrial machinery manufacturing and engineering project leadership.
  • Strong client-facing and solutions-oriented approach, with the ability to understand customer needs and develop suitable technical solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead engineering design teams and coordinate effectively with production and fabrication personnel.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software and the ability to convert client concepts into production-ready technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical knowledge of machine components, engineering tolerances, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to assess technical feasibility and prepare or contribute to engineering cost estimates.
  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Willingness and commitment to learn Dutch quickly.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s licence for four-wheeled vehicles and be willing to travel regionally and across Europe as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients to understand their technical requirements, project objectives, and machinery specifications.
  • Translate customer concepts and complex technical requirements into practical engineering designs and production-ready technical drawings.
  • Lead and coordinate engineering design teams throughout machinery manufacturing and prototype fabrication projects.
  • Oversee projects from initial concept and design through fabrication, production coordination, and final completion.
  • Evaluate machine components, materials, tolerances, manufacturing processes, and technical feasibility.
  • Develop engineering concepts and design solutions that meet client requirements, production capabilities, quality standards, and budget expectations.
  • Prepare or review technical drawings, design specifications, and other engineering documentation.
  • Coordinate with production, fabrication, and other technical teams to ensure designs can be manufactured efficiently and accurately.
  • Conduct technical and cost assessments to support project quotations, proposals, and customer solutions.
  • Identify potential design, manufacturing, and project delivery challenges and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, suppliers, design personnel, and production teams.
  • Travel regionally and across Europe as required to support client meetings, project coordination, and technical sales activities.
