Crusher Shift Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field is preferred, subject to the employer’s requirements.
- Relevant experience in crusher operations, aggregate processing, mining, or cement manufacturing is required.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or shift leadership role is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of industrial crushing equipment, including jaw crushers, impact crushers, cone crushers, or other systems relevant to the plant.
- Familiarity with feeders, conveyor belts, vibrating screens, hoppers, and material handling systems.
- Understanding of crushing processes, material sizing, production flow, and equipment performance monitoring.
- Ability to identify operational abnormalities and coordinate troubleshooting activities.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and industrial equipment safety procedures.
- Ability to monitor production targets, equipment availability, downtime, and shift performance.
- Experience preparing shift reports, production records, and equipment operating logs.
- Strong leadership, team coordination, and decision-making skills.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements in industrial or cement plant environments.
- Commitment to housekeeping, safe work practices, and compliance with company procedures.
- Physically fit and capable of working in an industrial plant environment.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, or holidays as required by the employer.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily crusher operations and ensure that production targets are achieved during the assigned shift.
- Monitor the operation of crushers, feeders, conveyor belts, screens, hoppers, and associated equipment.
- Ensure the continuous and efficient supply of crushed raw materials to the next stage of cement production.
- Assign duties to crusher operators and other shift personnel according to operational requirements.
- Monitor equipment performance, production output, material flow, and crushing efficiency.
- Ensure that crushed materials meet the required size specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect crusher equipment and operating areas to identify abnormal conditions, blockages, excessive vibration, unusual noise, and other potential problems.
- Coordinate with mechanical and electrical maintenance teams to address equipment breakdowns and operational issues.
- Report equipment failures, production interruptions, and safety concerns to the appropriate department or management.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance activities to minimize unplanned downtime and maintain equipment reliability.
- Ensure that equipment inspections and routine operating checks are completed according to established procedures.
- Monitor operating parameters and production records to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain shift reports covering production output, equipment status, downtime, maintenance activities, and manpower requirements.
- Conduct shift handovers and communicate operational issues, pending maintenance work, and production priorities to the incoming supervisor.
- Ensure that operators follow standard operating procedures and approved equipment operating instructions.
- Enforce workplace safety requirements, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure compliance with lockout/tagout procedures before maintenance or repair work is carried out.
- Monitor housekeeping and ensure that crusher areas, access routes, and equipment surroundings remain clean and safe.
- Identify operational risks and implement appropriate corrective actions in coordination with the responsible departments.
- Train, guide, and support crusher operators to improve operational performance and safety awareness.
- Coordinate with quarry, raw material handling, production, and maintenance teams to maintain smooth plant operations.
- Assist in investigating production delays, equipment failures, and recurring operational problems.
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and operational resources during the assigned shift.
- Perform other crusher operation and production supervision duties assigned by management.
