CONVENTIONAL / CNC TURNER

Qualifications:

• Strong background in setting up and operating conventional and CNC lathes.
• Proven experience machining customised workpieces and performing repair work.
• Experience operating multi-axis Doosan SY turning centres with sub-spindle and Y-axis capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens CNC controls.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and engineering specifications.
• Ability to work accurately with tight machining tolerances.
• Clear understanding of technical English and the ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Familiarity with Fagor-controlled machines is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to precision and quality.
• Ability to follow workshop safety procedures and work effectively in a machining environment.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate conventional and CNC lathes to manufacture customised workpieces and perform repair work.
• Operate multi-axis Doosan SY turning centres equipped with sub-spindle and Y-axis capabilities.
• Use Siemens CNC controls to operate machines and execute machining programs.
• Read and interpret complex technical drawings, engineering specifications, and machining instructions.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, machine settings, and machining methods for different materials and workpiece requirements.
• Perform turning operations while maintaining tight tolerances and required dimensional accuracy.
• Inspect finished workpieces using suitable measuring instruments and precision tools.
• Identify machining defects and make necessary adjustments to ensure product quality.
• Carry out basic machine checks and maintain a safe, clean, and organised working area.
• Follow workshop procedures, production schedules, and workplace health and safety requirements.
