CNC Lathe Machine Operator
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in a relevant technical field or similar qualification.
- Proven experience operating CNC lathe or CNC turning machines.
- Practical knowledge of CNC machining and turning operations.
- Ability to perform turning, facing, drilling, and threading operations.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and machining specifications.
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
- Ability to inspect workpieces and verify dimensional tolerances accurately.
- Knowledge of cutting tools and ability to identify and replace worn cutting tools.
- Ability to make minor CNC program adjustments and machine offset corrections.
- Good understanding of machine setup and test-cycle procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and workplace safety procedures.
- Physically fit and capable of working in a manufacturing environment.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.

- Able to work independently and as part of a production team.
Responsibilities:
- Load and secure raw stock or workpieces into the CNC lathe machine.
- Set up and operate CNC lathe and turning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, dimensions, and machining requirements before production.
- Perform CNC turning operations including:
- Turning
- Facing
- Drilling
- Threading
- Other basic machining operations as required
- Run test cycles to verify machine settings, tool paths, dimensions, and machining results.
- Monitor machine operation and production processes to ensure consistent output.
- Inspect finished workpieces using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Verify dimensions and tolerances against engineering drawings and production specifications.
- Identify defective or out-of-tolerance parts and make appropriate machine or process adjustments.
- Replace worn, damaged, or unsuitable cutting tools as required.
- Make minor program adjustments and machine offset corrections to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Monitor cutting conditions, tool wear, machine performance, and finished product quality.
- Maintain proper machine settings throughout the production process.
- Keep CNC machines, tools, work areas, and equipment clean and organized.
- Perform basic machine checks and report mechanical or technical problems to supervisors.
- Follow production schedules, work instructions, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
- Properly handle raw materials, finished components, cutting tools, and machining equipment.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records when required.
- Follow company standards for quality control, workplace safety, and machine operation.
- Perform other CNC machining and production duties as assigned.
