CARPET INSTALLER

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a Carpet Installer or in a closely related field.
  • Must have at least 1 year of college or completion of a 1-year vocational course.
  • Strong knowledge of carpet installation techniques and flooring preparation.
  • Ability to accurately measure, cut, fit, and install carpets.
  • Good attention to detail and workmanship.
  • Able to safely operate and maintain carpet installation tools and equipment.
  • Physically capable of performing installation work, including bending, kneeling, lifting, and working for extended periods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Measure and assess areas requiring carpet installation.
  • Prepare floors and installation surfaces to ensure they are clean, level, and suitable for carpet installation.
  • Remove old carpet and other existing flooring materials when required.
  • Cut, fit, and install carpets according to measurements and project specifications.
  • Secure carpets using appropriate installation methods and materials.
  • Trim and finish carpet edges neatly and accurately.
  • Inspect completed installations to ensure quality, proper fitting, and professional finishing.
  • Identify and resolve carpet installation problems and fitting issues.
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Use installation tools and equipment safely and correctly.
  • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, supervisors, and other team members.
  • Follow project schedules, instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Perform other related carpet installation and flooring duties as assigned.
