Cake Decorator

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Cake Decorator or in a similar cake decorating or pastry role.
• Practical experience in 3D cake design, fondant and gum paste modeling, sculpting, and detailed decorative work.
• Strong skills in fondant application, buttercream decoration, piping techniques, and sugar craft.
• Knowledge of cake flavors, fillings, frosting, icing techniques, and decorative finishing methods.
• Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail, color coordination, and artistic presentation.
• Ability to interpret design references and transform concepts into attractive finished cakes.
• Good manual dexterity and precision when creating intricate decorations and sculpted designs.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines, especially during busy periods.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cake orders.
• Passion for baking, cake decorating, and creating high-quality products.
• Commitment to food safety, cleanliness, and consistent product quality.
• Ability to work effectively with a team in a fast-paced bakery environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, decorate, and finish cakes according to customer specifications, special requests, and approved designs.
• Create customized 3D cakes using fondant, gum paste, modeling materials, and sculpting techniques.
• Produce detailed cake decorations, including figurines, flowers, characters, shapes, and other decorative elements.
• Apply fondant, buttercream, icing, piping, and sugar-craft techniques to achieve professional finishes.
• Prepare and apply cake fillings, frostings, icings, and decorative toppings according to recipes and design requirements.
• Develop creative cake designs for birthdays, weddings, celebrations, corporate events, and other special occasions.
• Ensure consistency in cake appearance, decoration quality, color coordination, and presentation.
• Work closely with bakers, pastry chefs, and other team members to coordinate cake preparation and decoration.
• Review customer orders and design references to ensure that finished products meet the requested specifications.
• Manage decorating materials, tools, and supplies efficiently to minimize waste.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station, tools, and equipment.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures throughout the cake preparation and decorating process.
• Complete orders within the required time frame while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
• Keep up with current cake decorating techniques, trends, and creative design ideas.
