BAKER / PASTRY CHEF

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Baker or Pastry Chef in a professional kitchen.
• Culinary degree or relevant certification in Baking or Pastry Arts is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and pastry decoration.
• Creative approach to dessert presentation and the ability to innovate
• Attention to detail and precision in measuring and baking.
• Time management skills to ensure timely preparation of baked items
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts. Develop and execute new recipes and innovative pastry creations while adhering to established standards.
• Ensure consistency and high-quality presentation of all baked items.
• Monitor baking process, oven temperatures, and baking times to achieve desired results
• Decorate pastries and desserts using artistic skills for an appealing visual presentation.
• Maintain inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, and place orders as needed.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and execute menu items that complement the overall dining experience.
• Maintain a clean and organized baking area, following food safety and sanitation standards.
• Train and mentor junior pastry staff, providing guidance on techniques and procedures.
• Stay updated with industry trends and new baking techniques to continually enhance skills and offerings
