General Machinery Pte Ltd (GM Motors) is seeking experienced Auto Electricians to join its team in Fiji. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining the electrical and electronic systems of light and heavy vehicles while ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and reliability.

Auto Electrician

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as an Auto Electrician is required.
  • Must have good English communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, diagnostics, maintenance, wiring, and electronic controls.
  • Experience with hydraulic and vehicle electrical systems, diagnostic tools, and spare parts identification is an advantage.
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair faults in automotive electrical and electronic systems using diagnostic equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair wiring, lighting systems, batteries, alternators, starters, sensors, and other electrical components.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot charging, ignition, starting, and electronic control systems.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and electrical inspections on vehicles.
  • Replace defective electrical components and ensure proper system functionality after repairs.
  • Maintain accurate service records and report repair findings to supervisors.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools, testing equipment, and spare parts.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications and workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with workshop staff to complete repairs efficiently and minimize vehicle downtime.
