ASPHALT SPECIALIST / PAVER WING ROLLER OPERATOR

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
• No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
• Previous experience operating rollers, paving equipment, or heavy machinery is required.
• Must be able to provide a Certificate of Employment and other supporting documents.
• Willing to take IELTS with a minimum score of 4.0 in all categories.
• Must be able to provide a Police Clearance.
• Safety-conscious, physically fit, reliable, and willing to work on civil construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate rollers and paving equipment to compact asphalt on roads, driveways, and civil infrastructure projects.
• Perform wing-roller operations to achieve smooth and precise compaction, including proper joint matching along pavement edges.
• Monitor asphalt surface texture, paving thickness, alignment, and overall quality according to project requirements and New Zealand roading standards.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections and report mechanical faults or safety issues promptly.
• Maintain and clean machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures, wear required PPE, and maintain a safe working area around heavy equipment.
• Coordinate with other site workers and equipment operators to ensure smooth and efficient paving operations.
