Driller Helper (Surface Mining)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 yrs related experience
- At least High School graduate
- Experience with using a hydraulic diamond drill
Responsibilities:
- Assist in drilling and blasting rock at construction sites
- Assist miners in excavating and in setting up and operating various drills and other surface mining machinery
- Maintains work tools and keeps the work area clean
- Handles core tubes and drill strings (setting and retrieving)
- Properly sorts drill cores into boxes
- Monitors the water line, pumps, fuel and propane levels, and supplies the drill rig
- Assists with moving and setting up the drill rig
- Assists and supports the driller to ensure smooth drilling operations
- Adheres to and implements Forage Orbit Garant’s health and safety methods and procedures
- Performs all other related tasks associated with the position
Requirements:
- Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
- Employment certificates
- NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
- PEOS certificate
