Elite Poultry Services, Ltd. is seeking physically fit and hardworking Chicken Catchers to work in Canada. The successful candidates will be responsible for safely catching and removing live chickens from assigned poultry barns, preparing birds for transport to processing facilities, monitoring barn conditions, and operating farm machinery and equipment. The position requires physical stamina, careful animal handling, and the ability to perform manual farm work efficiently and safely.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience.
• High School Graduate.
• Physically fit and willing to perform farm and manual labor work.
• Able to perform physically demanding tasks involving prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive movement.
• Comfortable working around live poultry in farm and poultry barn environments.
• Able to safely handle and catch live chickens according to established procedures.
• Willing to work in varying barn conditions, including heat, dust, noise, and strong odors.
• Able to follow instructions and established poultry handling and safety procedures.
• Basic awareness of poultry health and the ability to identify and report signs of disease or health problems.
• Responsible, hardworking, reliable, and capable of working effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Catch and safely remove live chickens from predetermined and assigned poultry barns.
• Ensure that all birds are collected from inside the barns in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
• Search for and safely collect stray birds located outside the poultry barns.
• Handle live poultry carefully to minimize stress, injury, and unnecessary harm to the birds.
• Load chickens into designated loading modules and containers for transportation.
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment used to move loading modules and poultry containers.
• Transport loading modules and containers in and out of designated poultry barns according to established procedures.
• Position loading modules and containers properly for efficient and safe loading of birds.
• Assist with loading poultry containers onto trucks headed to processing facilities.
• Set and monitor water lines, airflow, and temperature inside poultry barns.
• Observe barn conditions and report abnormalities that may affect poultry health or safety.
• Monitor chickens for signs of disease, injury, weakness, unusual behavior, or other health problems.
• Report suspected poultry diseases, health concerns, or abnormal conditions to the supervisor.
• Follow established poultry handling, catching, loading, and transportation procedures.
• Maintain safe working conditions while operating machinery and handling live poultry.
• Clean and properly maintain assigned tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Follow farm biosecurity, sanitation, animal welfare, and workplace safety procedures.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and required protective clothing.
• Work cooperatively with other poultry workers, farm personnel, drivers, and supervisors.
• Perform physically demanding farm and manual labor duties for extended periods.
• Follow schedules and instructions to ensure poultry catching and loading operations are completed on time.
• Perform other poultry farm, catching, loading, and general labor duties assigned by management.
