UPS System Technician

Qualifications:

  • Male applicants are preferred for this role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in UPS systems, electrical maintenance, or power backup systems.
  • Strong knowledge of 1-phase and 3-phase UPS systems, ATS (Automatic Transfer Switches), and battery systems.
  • Experience in installation, configuration, and commissioning of UPS and backup power systems.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance, diagnostic testing, and servicing procedures for UPS equipment and battery banks.
  • Knowledge of lead-acid and NiCad battery systems and maintenance practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for electrical and mechanical failures.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
  • Good analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing onsite technical work and emergency repairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and wire 1-phase and 3-phase UPS systems, ATS units, and battery monitoring systems according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform commissioning and operational testing of UPS and backup power systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and scheduled servicing of UPS hardware and battery banks.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical failures and perform troubleshooting procedures efficiently.
  • Replace faulty components and conduct emergency onsite repairs to restore backup power systems promptly.
  • Monitor UPS system performance and ensure operational reliability and safety.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures, electrical standards, and company operational policies.
  • Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams regarding equipment issues and repair activities.
  • Maintain tools, testing equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
