Walpett Engineering Pty. Limited is seeking a skilled Boiler Maker / Fabricator to perform metal fabrication and welding tasks, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. The successful candidate will interpret technical drawings, fabricate metal structures, and contribute to project collaboration in a professional and safe work environment.
Boiler Maker / Fabricator
Qualifications:
- Male or Female, 25–42 years old.
- Experience in GMAW and SMAW welding methods.
- Relevant certifications (TESDA NC II / WPQT) required.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Certificate of Employment (COE) for all work experiences in fabrication.
- Experience in metal fabrication, project collaboration, safety awareness, and welding inspection/quality control.
- Certificate in IV Engineering – Fabrication is an advantage.
- Pipe welding certification and Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) certification are advantages.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Physically fit and able to handle manual fabrication and welding tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Shape, bend, and cut metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools.
- Join metal sections using various welding techniques (GMAW, SMAW) and perform flame cutting as required.
- Fabricate steel structures such as trusses, supports, and other metal components.
- Verify measurements, elevations, and alignments to ensure accuracy.
- Inspect welded joints and fabricated components for quality and compliance with standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Follow and enforce strict safety regulations, including the use of protective equipment (gloves, masks, safety shoes).
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, or specifications accurately for fabrication and welding tasks.
- Perform basic non-destructive testing (NDT) methods when required.
- Conduct basic repairs on welding and fabrication equipment.
- Set up welding equipment and adjust parameters as needed.
- Prepare materials for fabrication and welding tasks.
- Coordinate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Stay updated on industry advancements, welding techniques, and fabrication best practices.
