Spray Painter

Qualifications:

• At least five (5) years of relevant work experience as a Spray Painter.
• Previous experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
• Overseas work experience is an advantage.
• Practical knowledge of industrial spray painting techniques, protective coatings, and surface preparation.
• Familiarity with spray painting equipment, airless spray systems, compressors, spray guns, and related tools.
• Ability to prepare surfaces through cleaning, sanding, grinding, abrasive blasting, and application of primers, as required.
• Knowledge of different types of industrial paints, coatings, thinners, and application procedures.
• Ability to follow technical specifications, coating procedures, and paint manufacturer’s instructions.
• Good attention to detail and ability to achieve consistent coating thickness and finish.
• Ability to work safely in industrial and oil and gas project environments.
• Physically fit and capable of performing painting duties, including working at heights and in confined spaces when required.

Responsibilities:

• Perform spray painting activities on industrial equipment, pipelines, steel structures, tanks, vessels, and other assigned surfaces.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, removing rust, sanding, grinding, and carrying out other specified surface preparation activities.
• Apply primers, protective coatings, and finishing paints using appropriate spray painting equipment.
• Operate and maintain airless spray machines, spray guns, compressors, and other painting tools.
• Mix paints, coatings, and thinners according to approved specifications and manufacturer’s instructions.
• Check surface conditions and ensure that materials are properly prepared before applying coatings.
• Apply paint evenly and accurately to achieve the required coating thickness, coverage, and finish.
• Monitor painting conditions and follow specified drying and curing times between coating applications.
• Inspect completed painting work for uneven coverage, runs, sags, pinholes, and other coating defects.
• Carry out touch-ups, repairs, and additional coating applications when necessary.
• Protect nearby equipment, surfaces, and components from overspray and paint contamination.
• Maintain painting equipment, tools, and work areas in clean and serviceable condition.
• Follow project coating specifications, quality control requirements, and industrial safety procedures.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment and observe safety precautions when handling paints, chemicals, and spray equipment.
• Perform other related industrial spray painting and coating duties as assigned.
