Our employer Franklin Smith Limited is in need of the following:

Excavator/ Heavy Equipment Operator

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment, including 1.5t to 30t excavators.
• Experience operating graders, loaders, or similar heavy machinery is an advantage.
• Experience in civil drainage or drain laying projects is preferred.
• At least 3 years of overseas work experience is preferred.
• Good English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and equipment operation.
• Safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Physically fit and capable of working in outdoor construction environments.

Responsibilities:

• Operate excavators ranging from 1.5 to 30 tonnes to carry out excavation, earthmoving, trenching, and site preparation works.
• Perform excavation activities for civil construction, infrastructure, and drainage projects while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Operate additional heavy equipment such as graders, loaders, and other construction machinery when required.
• Assist with drain laying and underground utility installation as needed.
• Read and interpret construction plans, site layouts, and grade levels to ensure work is completed according to specifications.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations while maintaining a safe worksite.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and construction crews to complete projects on schedule and meet production targets.
• Report equipment faults, hazards, and site issues promptly to management.
