ELECTRICIAN (E&I Technician – Paper Mill)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in paper mills, steel plants, cement factories, petrochemical plants, power stations, or similar heavy industries.
  • Experience in a pulp and paper or tissue mill is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of LV motors, VFDs, MCCs, switchgear, instrumentation, PLC/SCADA systems (experience with Siemens systems is an advantage).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent electrical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety with a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems in the paper mill.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults affecting production machinery and plant equipment.
  • Maintain and service low-voltage (LV) motors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Motor Control Centers (MCCs), switchgear, and associated electrical systems.
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain field instrumentation, sensors, transmitters, and control devices.
  • Diagnose and support PLC and SCADA systems, with experience in Siemens systems considered an advantage.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and technical manuals to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment issues and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company procedures, electrical standards, and workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and coordinate with operations and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.
  • Perform other electrical and instrumentation duties as assigned by the employer.
