Maintenance Engineer – Communication (SCADA)

Qualifications:

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering or relevant experience.
  • Has 5 years of experience in TELECOM Subsystems installation or maintenance within metro systems.
  • Has experience in working with Network Switches Routers and Firewall
  • Has experience of managing maintenance teams
  • Experience with inspection and adjustment of Fiber.
  • Experience with maintaining Telecom Subsystems

Responsibilities:

  • Acting in a supervisory role within the maintenance section for the overall maintenance of COM & SCADA: Systems
  • Supervises, Technicians and Workers, in addition supervises temporary or third parties/sub-contractors
  • Maintenance Planning In coordination with the Senior Engineer ensures the correct resources are available for the scheduled work
  • Ensure maintenance and repair activities of COM & SCADA are carried out to the work order schedule in CMMS and in accordance with maintenance manuals
  • Responding to unplanned or emergency repair works
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining adequate stock levels for spare parts and tool availability and calibration
  • Assist in the delivery of in-house training courses for subordinates with regards to COM Subsystem, tools, equipment and machinery
  • Assist in the development and updating of Standard Operating Procedures and maintenance manuals.
  • Co-ordinate work with other maintenance disciplines e.g. Signaling, Rail Electrification
  • Participates in the recruitment process for staff within their section
  • Deputizes for senior engineer in their absence
