Sous Chef (Continental Cuisine)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant culinary experience, preferably in continental cuisine and professional kitchen operations.
• Previous experience working in high-end restaurants, luxury dining establishments, or five-star hotels is required.
• Proven knowledge and skills in preparing and cooking a variety of continental dishes.
• Skilled in food preparation, cooking techniques, food presentation, and proper portion control.
• Knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, proper food handling, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Experience in supervising kitchen staff, coordinating food preparation, and maintaining kitchen workflow.
• Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced professional kitchen.
• Detail-oriented, creative, responsible, and committed to maintaining high food quality and presentation standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff.
• Prepare, cook, and present a variety of continental dishes according to restaurant recipes and quality standards.
• Oversee food preparation, cooking, plating, and portioning to ensure consistency and quality.
• Coordinate and assign kitchen tasks to cooks and other kitchen personnel during food preparation and service.
• Ensure all ingredients are properly prepared, stored, and available before service.
• Monitor food quality, taste, freshness, presentation, and portion sizes before dishes are served.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, labeling, and rotation of food ingredients.
• Monitor kitchen inventory and report shortages or wastage to the Head Chef.
• Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and the introduction of new continental dishes.
• Train, guide, and support kitchen staff in proper cooking techniques and food preparation procedures.
• Coordinate with service staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation of customer orders.
• Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance or repair requirements.
• Help maintain efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Chef or restaurant management.
