WHITE GOODS TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience.
• Bachelor’s / College Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
• Proven experience in repairing, installing, and maintaining refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, and other household white goods.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical appliance systems and troubleshooting procedures.
• Skilled in testing electrical circuits and inspecting mechanical components to identify faults.
• Experienced in repairing or replacing motors, valves, thermostats, belts, and other appliance components.
• Knowledgeable in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and appliance-repair tools.
• Able to safely install and level large household appliances and connect required water or gas lines.
• Up-to-date knowledge of the latest white goods technology, appliance models, and replacement parts.
• Able to read and follow technical manuals, manufacturer specifications, and service instructions.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Safety-conscious and capable of performing technical work according to established procedures.
• Reliable, hardworking, organized, and capable of working independently or as part of a technical team.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect and diagnose electrical and mechanical problems in household white goods and appliances.
• Test electrical circuits and components to identify the cause of appliance breakdowns.
• Use diagnostic procedures and appropriate testing equipment to locate electrical faults.
• Inspect mechanical components for wear, damage, or malfunction.
• Listen for unusual sounds and observe appliance operation to help identify mechanical or electrical problems.
• Repair or replace defective components such as motors, valves, thermostats, belts, switches, pumps, and other appliance parts.
• Use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and specialized appliance-repair tools safely and correctly.
• Repair and maintain refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, and other household white goods.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing to ensure appliances operate safely and efficiently.
• Install new large household appliances according to manufacturer instructions and safety requirements.
• Properly position and level newly installed appliances to ensure safe and correct operation.
• Connect water hoses, drainage systems, and other utility connections as required.
• Safely connect gas lines where applicable and in accordance with approved procedures and safety requirements.
• Test newly installed or repaired appliances to confirm proper operation and performance.
• Check appliances for electrical, mechanical, water, drainage, and other operational issues before completing service work.
• Explain identified faults, repairs, and basic appliance-care requirements to customers or relevant personnel when required.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, replacement parts, and completed service work.
• Identify required replacement parts and ensure the correct components are used for each appliance model.
• Keep updated on the latest white goods technology, appliance models, diagnostic methods, and replacement parts.
• Follow manufacturer specifications, technical manuals, and service procedures when performing repairs and installations.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Follow electrical, mechanical, gas, workplace health, and safety procedures at all times.
• Perform other appliance maintenance, repair, installation, and technical duties assigned by management.
