Wall and Floor Tiler

Qualifications:

• Age: 24–45 years old.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience as a Wall and Floor Tiler.
• Proven experience in wall and floor tile installation and surface preparation.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, measurements, and work specifications.
• Skilled in measuring, marking, cutting, shaping, and installing tiles.
• Knowledge of different tile materials, adhesives, grouts, and installation methods.
• Good attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality finishing work.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual work, including standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team.
• Willing to work in different construction and project environments.
• Applicant must be willing to take the IELTS examination.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Responsible, hardworking, reliable, and willing to follow Australian workplace standards.

Responsibilities:

• Examine building plans, drawings, and specifications to determine tiling requirements.
• Measure and mark surfaces and accurately lay out tiling work.
• Prepare wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, and adhesive.
• Fill holes and cracks and clean surfaces to ensure they are suitable for tile installation.
• Check surfaces for level, alignment, and proper preparation before installation.
• Measure and calculate the materials required for each tiling project.
• Select appropriate tiles, adhesives, grout, and other materials according to project requirements.
• Use tile-cutting tools and equipment to cut and shape tiles for edges, corners, and irregular areas.
• Cut tiles accurately around fittings, pipes, drains, electrical outlets, and other fixtures.
• Apply adhesives, mortar, or other bonding materials to prepared surfaces.
• Install wall and floor tiles according to plans, patterns, and specifications.
• Ensure tiles are properly aligned, spaced, level, and securely installed.
• Apply grout between tiles and clean excess grout and adhesive from finished surfaces.
• Install tiles in bathrooms, kitchens, floors, walls, and other designated areas.
• Repair, replace, or re-tile damaged or defective sections when required.
• Complete finishing work to ensure a neat, smooth, and professional appearance.
• Use hand tools, power tools, levels, measuring instruments, and other tiling equipment safely and correctly.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and construction site requirements.
• Coordinate with supervisors, builders, contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure work is completed efficiently.
• Inspect completed work and rectify defects or inconsistencies as necessary.
• Perform other tiling and construction-related duties as assigned.
