TILE SETTER

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience is required.
• Must be at least a High School Graduate.
• Proven experience in tile installation, tile repair, and finishing works.
• Skilled in preparing floors and walls for tile installation.
• Able to accurately measure, cut, align, level, and install tiles.
• Experienced in using wet saws, tile cutters, grinders, and other tile-setting tools.
• Knowledgeable in the proper preparation and application of mortar, adhesives, grout, and sealants.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clean, accurate, and professional finishes.
• Physically fit and capable of standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and working for extended periods.
• Able to work effectively on construction, maintenance, and facility management sites.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare floors and walls for tile installation by cleaning, leveling, repairing, and removing surface imperfections.
• Measure work areas accurately and determine the required tile quantities and layout.
• Mark surfaces and establish straight reference lines to ensure accurate tile alignment.
• Measure and cut tiles accurately according to required dimensions and installation patterns.
• Use wet saws, tile cutters, grinders, and appropriate hand tools safely and correctly.
• Select and prepare suitable mortar, cement, adhesive, grout, and other tile-setting materials.
• Apply mortar or adhesive evenly to floors, walls, and other designated surfaces.
• Install tiles according to approved layouts, patterns, designs, and specifications.
• Ensure proper spacing, alignment, level, and positioning of tiles during installation.
• Install different types of tiles on floors, walls, bathrooms, kitchens, and other areas as assigned.
• Cut and fit tiles around corners, edges, drains, pipes, fixtures, columns, and other obstacles.
• Apply grout properly to joints between tiles and ensure consistent joint finishing.
• Remove excess mortar, adhesive, and grout from tile surfaces without damaging the finished work.
• Clean and polish completed tiled surfaces and ensure a neat and professional finish.
• Apply sealants or other protective materials to finished surfaces when required.
• Remove old, cracked, loose, or damaged tiles safely.
• Repair and replace damaged tiles while maintaining consistency with the existing installation.
• Inspect completed tile work for uneven surfaces, cracks, gaps, misalignment, and other defects.
• Correct installation problems and perform necessary finishing or repair work.
• Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and work areas in clean and organized condition.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate with supervisors and other construction or maintenance workers to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Minimize material waste through accurate measurement, cutting, and proper handling of tiles and installation materials.
