BUILDING PLUMBING TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as a Building Plumbing Technician.
  • Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Previous experience working with building contractors or construction companies is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of water supply, drainage, sewer, stormwater, and sanitary plumbing systems.
  • Hands-on experience installing PPR, PVC, HDPE, copper, and other plumbing piping systems.
  • Skilled in fixture installation, pressure testing, leak testing, and system commissioning.
  • Ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings, layouts, and shop drawings.
  • Familiar with plumbing codes, construction standards, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Able to coordinate effectively with Civil, Architectural, and MEP teams.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequences and concealed MEP works before concrete casting and finishing.
  • GCC experience is an advantage.
  • Male applicants are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair water supply, drainage, sewer, stormwater, and sanitary plumbing systems.
  • Install and assemble PPR, PVC, HDPE, copper, and other plumbing piping systems.
  • Read, interpret, and work from plumbing drawings, layouts, and approved shop drawings.
  • Perform fixture installation, pressure testing, leak testing, and system commissioning.
  • Coordinate plumbing works with Civil, Architectural, and MEP teams throughout construction activities.
  • Resolve on-site installation issues while maintaining project quality and schedules.
  • Ensure concealed plumbing works are properly completed before concrete casting and finishing works.
  • Inspect completed installations to ensure compliance with plumbing codes, project specifications, and quality standards.
  • Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of installation, testing, and maintenance activities.
