Paradisiac Village Company Limited is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor for an overseas employment opportunity in Jamaica. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily construction activities, coordinating workers and contractors, monitoring site progress, enforcing safety procedures, and ensuring that construction work is completed according to approved plans, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
SITE SUPERVISOR
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor’s / College Degree holder in Engineering or a similar field.
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor, Construction Supervisor, or in a similar construction management position.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, site operations, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and work plans.
- Experience supervising construction workers, contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of construction site safety procedures, hazard identification, and proper use of PPE.
- Ability to monitor project progress, manpower, material requirements, and construction schedules.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in resolving on-site technical issues and delays.
- Good understanding of construction quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate daily logs, inventory records, progress reports, and other site documentation.
- Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Capable of working independently while effectively coordinating with project teams and stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills, reliability, adaptability, and commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily construction activities and ensure work progresses according to the approved project schedule.
- Supervise and coordinate construction workers, laborers, contractors, vendors, and subcontractors on site.
- Allocate labor resources and coordinate daily work assignments based on project requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, materials, progress, and compliance with project specifications.
- Ensure construction activities are carried out according to approved blueprints, drawings, specifications, and instructions.
- Review plans and coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project personnel to resolve site requirements.
- Monitor the use and availability of construction materials, tools, equipment, and other site resources.
- Maintain accurate records of material inventory, deliveries, usage, and shortages.
- Enforce workplace health and safety procedures and ensure workers properly use required PPE.
- Identify unsafe conditions, hazards, defective work, and other site concerns and take appropriate corrective action.
- Monitor the quality and progress of construction work and report deviations or deficiencies to the Project Manager.
- Maintain daily site logs documenting manpower, activities, materials, equipment, weather conditions, delays, and other relevant information.
- Prepare and submit regular site progress reports to the Project Manager.
- Coordinate deliveries with vendors and ensure materials arrive on site according to project requirements.
- Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure work is completed according to agreed schedules and specifications.
- Resolve on-site technical issues, construction discrepancies, delays, and coordination problems promptly.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding project requirements and issues.
- Monitor construction schedules and identify potential delays or resource constraints.
- Assist in planning corrective actions and implementing solutions to keep the project on schedule.
- Inspect completed work and coordinate correction of deficiencies before project handover.
- Keep the construction site organized, clean, and safe.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
