Senior Operator

Qualifications:

• At least a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience.
• Preferably 7–10 years of experience as a field operator in a chemical or industrial plant.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory or senior operator role.
• Extensive knowledge of chemical plant operations, particularly the Solvay process for producing soda ash and calcium chloride.
• Proven experience troubleshooting complex equipment and process-related problems in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Extensive experience in ensuring safety compliance and leading plant safety initiatives.
• Technical training or vocational certification in process operations, chemical engineering, or a related field is an advantage.
• Male applicants are preferred for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate field operators to ensure the effective and efficient operation of plant equipment, including pumps, compressors, reactors, kilns, conveyors, and storage tanks.
• Oversee field operations and regularly inspect process equipment to identify malfunctions, safety hazards, and deviations from standard operating parameters.
• Ensure that plant equipment operates according to established procedures and operational guidelines.
• Perform and direct manual equipment adjustments, including operating valves, pumps, and mechanical components, to maintain production rates and address abnormal operating conditions.
• Respond to instructions from the Distributed Control System (DCS) Operator and coordinate necessary field adjustments.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, particularly in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Promote and enforce workplace safety standards and lead safety initiatives within the plant.
