Yamama Cement Factory is seeking an experienced and technically skilled Senior Mechanic – Power Plant Maintenance Unit to support the maintenance and reliability of power plant equipment in Saudi Arabia. This opportunity is ideal for senior mechanical professionals with strong experience in power plant machinery, mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment inspection, and repair in a heavy industrial environment.
SENIOR MECHANIC – POWER PLANT – POWER PLANT MAINTENANCE UNIT
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Senior Mechanic, Power Plant Mechanic, or Mechanical Maintenance Technician in a power plant or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong experience in power plant mechanical maintenance, equipment inspection, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Good knowledge of generators, turbines, pumps, compressors, fans, gearboxes, valves, cooling systems, and other power plant equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair, alignment, and equipment inspection skills.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, maintenance procedures, and technical specifications.
- Experience with planned shutdowns, equipment overhauls, inspections, and major mechanical maintenance activities.
- Ability to provide technical guidance and support to mechanics and other maintenance personnel.
- Strong knowledge of industrial safety procedures and mechanical maintenance best practices.
- Physically fit and capable of working in a demanding power plant environment.
- Responsible, detail-oriented, technically capable, and able to work effectively with maintenance and operations teams.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee mechanical maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of power plant equipment and machinery.
- Inspect generators, turbines, pumps, compressors, fans, gearboxes, valves, cooling systems, and other mechanical components for wear, damage, or abnormal conditions.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and determine appropriate repair, replacement, adjustment, or maintenance requirements.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to established schedules, technical specifications, and manufacturer recommendations.
- Perform dismantling, repair, alignment, assembly, installation, and servicing of power plant mechanical equipment.
- Monitor equipment operating conditions and identify potential failures to minimize unexpected breakdowns and power generation interruptions.
- Assist with planned shutdowns, major overhauls, inspections, equipment servicing, and component replacement activities.
- Coordinate with power plant operators, engineers, electricians, supervisors, and other maintenance personnel to ensure reliable plant operations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to mechanics and maintenance personnel during complex mechanical troubleshooting and repair activities.
- Inspect mechanical components such as bearings, shafts, couplings, gears, belts, seals, pumps, and valves and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure mechanical equipment is properly lubricated, aligned, adjusted, and maintained according to required standards.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, equipment breakdowns, repairs, spare parts, and downtime.
- Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend preventive measures to improve equipment reliability and service life.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of mechanical tools, lifting equipment, measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and other industrial safety practices during maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain good housekeeping in the power plant and maintenance areas.
- Perform other mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical duties assigned by management.
