Orthodoxou Employment Bureau is seeking an experienced Senior Injection Molding Shift Supervisor / Setter to join a structured manufacturing operation in Cyprus. The successful candidate will be responsible for mould changing, injection molding machine setup, process parameter adjustment, start-up approval, quality inspection, troubleshooting, and supervision of machine operators. The role requires extensive hands-on experience in plastic injection molding and the ability to lead production activities during rotating shifts, including night shifts.

Senior Injection Molding Shift Supervisor / Setter

Qualifications:

• 8–10 years of hands-on experience in plastic injection molding.
• Strong practical experience in mould changing, machine setup, process setting, troubleshooting, and production supervision.
• Proven ability to set and operate injection molding machines and establish stable production processes.
• Strong knowledge of injection molding parameters, including temperature, pressure, speed, cooling, and cycle time.
• Experience troubleshooting common molding defects such as flash, short shots, sink marks, warpage, burn marks, and colour variation.
• Experience conducting first-off inspections and monitoring production quality.
• Experience supporting cycle-time optimization and improving production efficiency.
• Previous experience supervising machine operators in a structured manufacturing environment.
• Experience working rotating shifts, including night shifts.
• Relevant technical or mechanical qualification.
• A technical diploma or technical training related to the position is preferred.
• Educational or technical background in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Tool-Room training, or an equivalent technical field is acceptable.
• Knowledge of basic preventive maintenance and the ability to identify machine and mould-related problems.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Good leadership, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to production quality and workplace safety.
• Very good English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Physically fit and capable of working in a manufacturing environment and performing hands-on technical duties.
• Must have a newly renewed passport.

Responsibilities:

• Perform mould changes and ensure proper installation, alignment, and securing of moulds.
• Set up injection molding machines according to production requirements and mould specifications.
• Configure and adjust machine parameters to achieve stable and efficient production.
• Adjust temperature, pressure, injection speed, cooling, cycle time, and other process settings.
• Conduct machine start-up procedures and approve production after verifying process stability and product quality.
• Perform first-off inspections and ensure initial products meet approved specifications.
• Monitor injection molding processes throughout the shift to maintain consistent product quality.
• Troubleshoot common injection molding defects, including flash, short shots, sink marks, warpage, burn marks, and colour variation.
• Identify the causes of moulding defects and make appropriate process or machine adjustments.
• Monitor cycle times and identify opportunities to improve production efficiency.
• Support cycle-time optimization and implement appropriate process improvements.
• Monitor machine performance and production output against established targets.
• Supervise machine operators and provide guidance regarding proper machine operation and production procedures.
• Ensure operators follow approved quality, safety, production, and workplace procedures.
• Provide technical support and instructions to operators during production and troubleshooting activities.
• Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, quality records, and downtime reports.
• Record machine settings, process adjustments, production issues, and corrective actions as required.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and routine checks on injection molding machines and related equipment.
• Identify machine, mould, tooling, or equipment problems and report them to the Maintenance or Technical team.
• Inspect moulds and tooling for signs of wear, damage, contamination, or other issues affecting production.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to maintain smooth production operations.
• Ensure the correct raw materials, colours, components, and production supplies are available for scheduled production.
• Monitor material handling and minimize production waste and rejected products.
• Assist with production planning, shift handovers, and communication of technical or quality issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area.
• Follow company policies, occupational safety requirements, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.
• Perform other technical, production, and supervisory duties assigned by management.

Salary and Benefits:

• Salary starts at €1,200 gross monthly.
• Forty-four (44) working hours / Six (6) days a week.
• Accommodation will be provided.
• Contract duration is for 2 years.
