Piping Foreman
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience.
- Preferably 5–10 years of experience in mining, heavy industry, or construction projects.
- Proven supervisory experience in piping installation and maintenance.
- Strong technical expertise in pipe fabrication, fitting, alignment, and installation.
- Ability to read and interpret piping schematics, isometric drawings, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of welding processes, including:
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
- Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)
- Familiarity with different piping materials, including:
- High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)
- Carbon steel
- Stainless steel
- Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
- Knowledge of industrial piping tools and equipment.
- Understanding of workplace safety procedures, including PTW, LOTO, confined-space work, and working at heights.
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- No minimum educational attainment is specified for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Lead piping crews in the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of industrial piping systems, including slurry, water, compressed air, fuel, and process pipelines.
- Allocate manpower, assign daily tasks, and monitor work progress to meet project schedules.
- Supervise pipe fitting, welding, alignment, and installation activities.
- Ensure piping systems are installed according to engineering drawings, isometric diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Oversee the proper use of tools and equipment, including pipe cutters, beveling machines, and welding sets.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other site personnel to resolve technical and operational issues.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure piping installation and maintenance meet project quality requirements.
- Enforce site-specific safety protocols, including Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined-space entry, and working-at-height procedures.
- Conduct toolbox talks and reinforce safe work practices among crew members.
- Ensure workers use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow site safety rules.
