Pipe Fitter

Qualifications:

• Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in pipe fabrication and installation.
• Hands-on experience with firefighting piping systems.
• Hands-on experience working in district cooling plants.
• Strong knowledge of pipe fabrication, fitting, alignment, and installation procedures.
• Ability to read and understand piping drawings, layouts, isometric drawings, and technical specifications.
• Skilled in measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, bending, fitting, and assembling pipes.
• Familiarity with various pipe fittings, valves, flanges, couplings, and piping components.
• Ability to work with different piping materials and sizes commonly used in mechanical and firefighting systems.
• Knowledge of pipe supports, hangers, brackets, and proper pipe alignment.
• Basic knowledge of pressure testing, leak detection, flushing, and piping inspection procedures.
• Ability to safely operate pipe-fitting tools, power tools, and related equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Physically fit and capable of performing demanding hands-on work in construction and plant environments.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined areas, and in challenging site conditions when required.
• Good teamwork, communication, and coordination skills.
• Willing to follow Saudi Arabian workplace safety requirements, company policies, and project procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and install piping systems according to approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Perform pipe cutting, measuring, threading, grooving, bending, fitting, and assembly.
• Conduct hands-on installation of firefighting piping systems and related components.
• Install and fit piping systems used in district cooling plants.
• Read and interpret piping layouts, isometric drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
• Measure and mark pipes accurately before cutting, fabrication, and installation.
• Align pipes properly and ensure correct positioning, slope, supports, and connections.
• Install pipe fittings, flanges, valves, couplings, reducers, elbows, tees, and other piping components.
• Prepare pipe sections for welding and coordinate with welders during installation activities.
• Install piping supports, hangers, brackets, and related structural components as required.
• Assist in pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, and inspection of completed piping systems.
• Inspect installed pipework for proper alignment, connections, workmanship, and compliance with specifications.
• Identify and correct piping installation defects, leaks, misalignment, and other issues.
• Use pipe-fitting tools, measuring instruments, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and correctly.
• Coordinate with welders, mechanical technicians, electricians, supervisors, and other construction personnel.
• Follow approved work methods, installation procedures, and project schedules.
• Ensure piping materials and fittings are handled, stored, and installed properly.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout fabrication and installation activities.
• Follow occupational health and safety procedures when working with heavy pipes, tools, machinery, and equipment.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Report material shortages, damaged components, technical problems, and unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Assist with maintenance, modification, repair, and replacement of existing piping systems when required.
• Perform other pipe fitting, fabrication, and mechanical installation duties assigned by management.
