PASTRY CHEF
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar pastry production role.
- No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
- Must possess a valid passport with at least two (2) years and six (6) months validity.
- Strong knowledge of pastry preparation, baking techniques, dessert production, and food presentation.
- Experience in recipe development, pastry team supervision, and production planning is an advantage.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.
- Creative, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced food and beverage environment.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and produce a wide variety of pastries, desserts, breads, cakes, and confectionery products according to company recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure consistency in taste, texture, portion size, and presentation for all pastry products.
- Develop new recipes, seasonal menu offerings, and specialty desserts based on customer preferences and market trends.
- Oversee daily pastry production to ensure timely preparation and efficient workflow.
- Monitor portion control, minimize product waste, and maintain cost-effective production practices.
- Supervise, train, mentor, and motivate pastry staff to maintain high performance and product quality.
- Prepare staff schedules and allocate workloads to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Monitor inventory levels, order pastry ingredients and supplies, and ensure proper storage using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the pastry kitchen while ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Coordinate with kitchen management to support menu planning and continuous product improvement.
