Paradisiac Village Company Limited is seeking an experienced Painter for an overseas employment opportunity in Jamaica. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, protecting surrounding areas, mixing and matching paint colors, and applying paint, primer, and other coatings to achieve smooth, even, and high-quality finishes.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
- No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
- Proven experience in residential, commercial, property maintenance, or construction painting.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation, priming, painting, finishing, and touch-up techniques.
- Skilled in using brushes, rollers, spray guns, sanders, scrapers, and other painting tools.
- Ability to properly prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, patching, and removing old coatings.
- Knowledge of paint types, primers, sealers, finishes, and appropriate application methods.
- Ability to mix and match paint colors and achieve consistent finishes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing smooth, clean, and high-quality finishes.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
- Ability to work safely on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work areas.
- Good knowledge of proper handling, storage, and cleanup of paints, solvents, and related materials.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit and capable of performing demanding painting and maintenance work.
- Able to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, hardworking, adaptable, and willing to comply with company and site requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare walls, ceilings, doors, windows, trim, and other surfaces before painting.
- Clean surfaces thoroughly and remove dirt, grease, dust, loose paint, wallpaper, and other contaminants.
- Fill cracks, holes, dents, and other surface imperfections using putty, filler, or appropriate repair materials.
- Sand rough areas and prepare surfaces to achieve a smooth and even finish.
- Remove old paint, wallpaper, coatings, and other materials when required.
- Apply primers, sealers, undercoats, and other surface preparation products as specified.
- Protect floors, furniture, fixtures, windows, trim, and other areas using drop cloths, masking tape, plastic sheeting, and other protective materials.
- Mix and match paint colors according to project requirements and specified finishes.
- Apply paint evenly using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other appropriate painting equipment.
- Paint interior and exterior surfaces according to approved specifications and color requirements.
- Apply multiple coats of paint when necessary to achieve proper coverage, consistency, and durability.
- Perform touch-ups and corrective painting work on damaged, uneven, or improperly finished areas.
- Inspect completed surfaces for drips, runs, uneven coverage, missed areas, and other imperfections.
- Correct painting defects and ensure finished surfaces meet required quality standards.
- Use ladders, scaffolding, spray equipment, sanding tools, and other painting equipment safely.
- Clean and maintain brushes, rollers, spray guns, tools, and other painting equipment after use.
- Store paints, solvents, coatings, and other materials safely and according to workplace requirements.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout painting activities.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
- Coordinate with property managers, contractors, maintenance personnel, and other workers regarding painting requirements.
- Report material shortages, surface defects, equipment problems, and other concerns to supervisors.
- Complete assigned painting work efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
