OUTBBOARD MECHANIC
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Outboard Mechanic
- At least 1 year of college or vocational training in a relevant field
- Ability to provide a valid Trade Certificate
- Good to excellent communication skills
- Employment history with no more than a 1-year gap between 2020 to present
- Valid passport
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical skills in marine mechanics and electrical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize boat performance
- Familiarity with marine electronics and 12-volt systems
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
- Physical fitness and ability to work on water and in workshops
Responsibilities:
- Pre-deliver and fit up new outboard motors and boats
- Install marine electronics, including sounders, GPS, radios, trolling motors, and understand 12-volt marine systems
- Conduct water tests to check propellers, motor heights, and optimize boat performance
- Confidently handle boats on water during testing and diagnostics
- Perform trailer maintenance, including bearing changes and 12-volt system diagnostics
- Intrpret technical diagrams (especially Yamaha brands) for repairs and installations
- Communicate effectively with the Service Manager and customers to discuss, diagnose, and resolve boat and motor issues
