Symphony Music School is seeking qualified and experienced Music Teachers specializing in Piano, Guitar, and Keyboard for an overseas work opportunity in Brunei. The successful candidate will provide music instruction to students of different skill levels and develop engaging, personalized lessons based on their abilities and learning goals.
Music teacher (Piano/Guitar/Keyboard)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience.
- Bachelor’s/College Degree in Music, Performing Arts Studies, or a related field.
- Proven music teaching experience.
- Strong proficiency in piano, guitar, and/or keyboard.
- Good knowledge of music theory, chords, scales, sight-reading, rhythm, tempo, and harmony.
- Ability to create lessons appropriate for students with different skill levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, creative, encouraging, and passionate about teaching music.
- Ability to work effectively with children, teenagers, and/or adult students.
Responsibilities:
- Teach proper piano, guitar, and keyboard techniques, including chords, scales, sight-reading, and finger placement.
- Create customized lesson plans based on each student’s skill level, abilities, interests, and personal goals.
- Teach students how to read sheet music, rhythm, tempo, and harmony.
- Provide practical instruction in music theory and instrumental techniques.
- Demonstrate proper playing techniques and correct students’ posture, hand position, finger placement, and playing methods.
- Conduct individual or group music lessons as assigned.
- Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Help students develop musical skills, confidence, timing, coordination, and performance techniques.
- Select appropriate exercises, songs, and learning materials for students.
- Prepare students for recitals, performances, examinations, or other school activities when required.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment.
- Communicate with students and parents regarding progress, goals, and areas for improvement.
- Maintain lesson records and student progress reports.
- Participate in school performances, workshops, recitals, and other music-related activities.
- Perform other teaching duties assigned by school management.
