Millwright

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification would be an asset.
  • At least 2 years in mining or heavy industry.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to read technical drawings and use precision tools.
  • Basic welding and fabrication (an advantage).
  • Excellent safety awareness and adherence to procedures.
  • Good teamwork, communication, and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparing, measuring, lifting, assembling and aligning mechanical systems and equipment used in gold mining operations.
  • Install and align mechanical equipment (e.g. crushers, conveyors, mills, pumps).
  • Read drawing and technical documents to perform the installation
  • Take initiative and bring ideas
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns.
  • Fabricate and modify parts using welding, cutting, and machining tools.
  • Follow safety procedures and participate in risk assessments (JSA/JHA).
  • Collaborate with electricians, welders, and operators for efficient task execution.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
  • Support equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to lockout/tagout and all mine safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
  • Employment certificates
  • NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
  • PEOS certificate
