LAUNDRY ATTENDANT

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is required.
• At least High School Graduate.
• Previous experience as a Laundry Attendant, Laundry Worker, Hotel Laundry Staff, or similar hospitality position is preferred.
• Knowledge of laundry processing, washing, drying, ironing, folding, stain removal, and linen handling.
• Ability to safely operate commercial laundry equipment and follow proper operating procedures.
• Good understanding of different fabric types, washing requirements, temperature settings, and appropriate laundry chemicals.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, hygiene, organization, and quality.
• Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying laundry bags, bending, sorting, and performing repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hotel environment and meet daily laundry requirements.
• Able to communicate in basic English with supervisors, housekeeping staff, and other hotel personnel.
• Reliable, hardworking, responsible, and detail-oriented.
• Good teamwork and time-management skills.
• Willing to follow hotel laundry procedures, safety regulations, and instructions from supervisors.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all stages of linen and laundry processing, including collecting, sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and delivering clean linens.
• Collect used bed linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry items from guest rooms, housekeeping areas, restaurants, and other designated locations.
• Sort laundry according to type, color, fabric, level of soiling, and required washing procedure.
• Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, irons, presses, folding machines, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Measure and use appropriate detergents, cleaning agents, stain removers, and other laundry chemicals according to established procedures.
• Inspect linens and garments for stains, damage, tears, or other defects before and after washing.
• Pre-treat stains and perform additional cleaning procedures when necessary.
• Dry laundry using appropriate temperature and drying procedures to protect fabrics and maintain quality.
• Iron, press, fold, and neatly organize clean linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry items.
• Ensure all clean laundry meets the hotel’s required standards for cleanliness, freshness, appearance, and presentation.
• Deliver clean linens, towels, uniforms, and other processed items to the appropriate housekeeping, guest room, kitchen, restaurant, or storage areas.
• Maintain accurate organization and proper storage of clean and processed laundry.
• Monitor laundry supplies and report shortages, damaged items, equipment problems, or maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
• Maintain laundry machines, tools, workstations, storage areas, and laundry rooms in clean and organized condition.
• Follow proper procedures for handling contaminated, heavily soiled, or damaged laundry when applicable.
• Handle laundry chemicals safely and follow manufacturer instructions and workplace safety requirements.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling chemicals, machinery, or heavily soiled laundry.
• Help minimize water, energy, detergent, and material waste through proper laundry procedures.
• Coordinate with housekeeping and other hotel departments to ensure adequate linen supplies are available for daily operations.
• Follow hotel hygiene, sanitation, health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Perform other laundry, housekeeping support, and hotel service duties assigned by management.
