Super Value Store Limited is seeking an experienced and qualified Human Resources Manager to oversee HR operations and workforce management in Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of HR services, develop and implement HR strategies and policies, manage employee and industrial relations, oversee recruitment and workforce planning, coordinate performance management and payroll inputs, and ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and applicable employment requirements.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience is required.
- Must be a Bachelor’s / College Degree holder in Business Studies/Administration/Management, Human Resource Management, or a similar field.
- Strong experience in employee relations, industrial relations, recruitment, performance management, HR administration, disciplinary procedures, and workforce planning.
- Proven experience managing HR operations and providing HR support to employees and management.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employee relations, workforce management, and HR administration.
- Good understanding of employment-related requirements, company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, and HR-related systems.
- Direct experience working in commercial, retail, FMCG, or corporate environments is highly advantageous.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to manage HR matters professionally and effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with employees and management at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-management abilities.
- Able to handle confidential, sensitive, and potentially complex employee matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Professional, proactive, trustworthy, organized, and capable of making sound HR decisions.
- Firm but fair approach to employee management and disciplinary matters.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective coordination with management and other departments.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality, compliance, ethical conduct, and professional HR standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary cases, workplace conflicts, and other employment-related concerns.
- Handle industrial relations matters and support compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives that promote motivation, retention, productivity, and a positive workplace culture.
- Oversee recruitment and selection activities, including manpower planning, workforce requirements, interviewing, onboarding, and employee placement.
- Coordinate workforce planning to ensure staffing levels and employee requirements are aligned with operational needs.
- Manage and coordinate employee performance appraisal and performance management processes.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and supervisors in addressing employee performance issues and implementing appropriate actions.
- Ensure employee records, employment contracts, leave records, personnel files, and other HR documentation are complete, accurate, confidential, and properly maintained.
- Oversee HR-related payroll information, including salary adjustments, overtime, leave, deductions, employee movements, and other payroll inputs.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll-related information to the appropriate department or service provider.
- Ensure HR activities and processes comply with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and internal controls.
- Identify and appropriately manage actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest involving employees.
- Prepare and submit regular HR reports, workforce updates, employee statistics, performance information, and other management reports as required.
- Monitor HR trends, workforce issues, employee turnover, attendance, and other relevant personnel indicators.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information, salaries, disciplinary matters, personnel records, and other sensitive company information.
- Provide professional HR advice and support to management on employee-related matters.
- Ensure consistent and fair implementation of HR policies and disciplinary procedures throughout the organization.
- Maintain effective communication with employees, supervisors, department heads, and senior management.
- Assist in reviewing HR policies and procedures to improve efficiency, compliance, employee engagement, and workforce management.
- Ensure proper documentation of disciplinary actions, employee relations cases, contracts, and other HR matters.
- Support management in organizational development, workforce requirements, and employee retention initiatives.
- Promote professional standards, ethical conduct, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.
- Perform other HR management duties and responsibilities assigned by company management.
