HIGH END PAINTER-PLASTERER
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience is required.
- Must be at least a high school graduate.
- Proven experience in high-end painting and plastering with a consistently high standard of finish.
- Must have experience working on heritage houses, hotels, casino interiors, luxury residential projects, or similar high-end properties.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation, plastering materials, paint systems, and application techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual work for extended periods.
- Positive attitude, initiative, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Ability to lead site activities and provide guidance to junior workers and apprentices.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces and apply high-quality paint finishes using brush, roller, and spray techniques.
- Perform surface preparation, including sanding, patching, gib stopping, skimming, and plastering.
- Apply plaster finishes to walls, ceilings, decorative surfaces, and architectural features.
- Mix and apply plaster compounds to the required consistency and finish.
- Achieve smooth, seamless, and paint-ready finishes with exceptional attention to detail.
- Interpret specifications, drawings, and scopes of work accurately.
- Lead painting and plastering tasks on-site and coordinate work with other trades and subcontractors.
- Ensure proper selection, use, cleaning, and maintenance of painting and plastering tools and equipment.
- Identify material requirements in advance and ensure sufficient supplies are available for daily work.
- Maintain clean, tidy, and protected work areas throughout the project.
- Set up and clear work areas as required, including sweeping, rubbish removal, and proper material storage.
- Run job sites in the absence of a Manager or Supervisor and ensure work is completed according to project requirements.
- Communicate effectively with management, team members, subcontractors, and clients.
- Support and mentor apprentices and junior team members and share knowledge of painting and plastering techniques.
- Complete timesheets and site documentation accurately, including notes on activities, variations, and incidents.
- Report project progress, issues, hazards, and incidents to the Painting & Finishes Manager.
- Operate company vehicles and tow trailers when required, provided with a valid driver’s license.
- Perform deliveries and assist with site logistics when necessary.
- Use company vehicles, tools, materials, and equipment responsibly and report any faults or damage promptly.
- Follow and enforce company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Use appropriate PPE and safety equipment correctly and consistently.
- Sign in and out of work sites using the company’s required application or system.
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and collaborative work environment.
