Heavy Equipment and Fire Vehicle Technical Specialist
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in fire vehicle maintenance, emergency vehicle engineering, fleet management, or heavy vehicle maintenance.
- Strong technical knowledge of firefighting vehicles, rescue equipment, heavy-duty vehicles, and emergency response systems.
- Experience reviewing technical specifications, engineering drawings, manufacturer documentation, and equipment datasheets.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, technical bid evaluations, and supplier assessments.
- Familiarity with applicable firefighting, vehicle safety, and engineering standards.
- Experience with municipal, industrial, military, or airport firefighting vehicles (ARFF) is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and technical report writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering documentation systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Willing to work in Kuwait under the employer’s policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise on fire engines, rescue vehicles, airport rescue and firefighting (ARFF) vehicles, tankers, aerial ladder platforms, and other specialized firefighting vehicles.
- Review and evaluate engineering drawings, technical specifications, equipment datasheets, test reports, and manufacturer documentation.
- Develop and prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for firefighting vehicles, heavy equipment, and related systems.
- Support procurement activities by evaluating supplier proposals, participating in technical bid evaluations, and recommending technically compliant solutions.
- Verify that firefighting vehicles and equipment comply with applicable safety regulations, operational requirements, and recognized national and international standards.
- Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers, maintenance teams, and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure successful equipment delivery and commissioning.
- Recommend fleet upgrades, modifications, equipment enhancements, and modernization initiatives to improve operational capability and reliability.
- Monitor equipment performance and provide technical recommendations for preventive maintenance, repairs, and lifecycle management.
- Support emergency response operations by providing technical assistance during equipment failures or operational incidents when required.
- Prepare technical reports, inspection findings, maintenance recommendations, and asset documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality management systems, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, firefighting vehicle innovations, and applicable engineering standards.
- Perform other engineering and technical support duties assigned by management.
