GARDENER (HORTICULTURAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN)
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow work instructions.
- Good knowledge of plants, including their requirements for sunlight, water, soil, and proper maintenance.
- Able to identify various plant species and recognize common pests and plant diseases.
- Experienced in using manual and powered gardening tools and equipment.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy items, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform repetitive tasks such as walking, bending, and squatting.
Responsibilities:
- Plant and maintain flowers, shrubs, trees, and other plants in gardens and landscaped areas.
- Perform pruning, trimming, weeding, mulching, mowing, and edging to keep gardens and lawns well-maintained.
- Water and irrigate plants, apply fertilizers, and monitor plants for pests, diseases, and other issues.
- Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, tillers, and other powered tools.
- Clear walkways, garden areas, and landscaped spaces of leaves, litter, branches, and other debris.
- Assist with garden landscaping projects, including preparing plant beds and installing walkways or other garden features.
- Follow proper safety procedures when handling fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, tools, and machinery.
